Heat Recovery Solutions

Innovative Steam Technologies (IST) is a world leader in the design and manufacture of Heat Recovery Steam Generators utilizing the Once Through Heat Recovery technology. This technology can be utilized to recover heat from any number of hot gas sources and produce either hot water or steam.

IST, through our association with Macchi Boiler of Italy can also utilize standard natural circulation technologies to provide heat recovery.

Depending on the application and the requirements of the client, IST can utilize either technology to provide the most cost efficient Heat Recovery Solution. This solution can be to redesign a feedwater pre-heater to eliminate corrosion and ash accumulation problems as was provided to CanCarb (see CanCarb case study), or to provide enhanced energy recovery in the form of hot water from an existing Once Through Steam Generator as was provided to Mondi Paper (see Mondi case study).

IST will evaluate each waste heat opportunity and determine the optimized solution depending on the parameters of the waste gas stream and of the steam/water criteria which are to be produced. This solution may be either a retrofit to the existing equipment or the addition of new equipment to utilize an untapped heat source.

IST can provide Engineered Upgrades, Enhanced Retrofits or Optimized Additional/New Equipment for your needs. Our Industry expertise allows us to provide equipment for non IST HRSG applications, for IST Once Through Steam Generator (OTSG) applications, for Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) units and for Waste Heat Boilers (WHB) following any industrial process.
